With Maryland moving into Phase 3 of its COVID reopening plan just a few days ago, it is inevitable that many Pastors and Church leaders will start seeing an increase in calls with questions about their plans to return to the Church Building.
My prayer is that the physical security of your church is on the forefront of those plans. When the laity returns they will undoubtedly be more sensitive to their surroundings than ever before. As church leaders we have an obligation to make sure they not only "feel" safe, but they truly are secure inside our church buildings to the very best of our abilities.
The reality is COVID-19 has shifted the way we worship but it has not and will not stop worship. As we start thinking about returning to the building this is a perfect time to address the security needs of your church.
