Jones , Jr. is a veteran law enforcement officer with over a decade of experience in various law enforcement concentrations. Bernard has a background in criminal investigations, training/education, and community services. Bernard is a decorated criminal investigator having been awarded honors and recognition by local municipalities, the Maryland State Highway Association, the Maryland House of Delegates, the Maryland Municipal League - Police Executive Association, the Police Chief's Association of Prince George's County, the Prince George's County Board of Education, and Unites States Congressman Steny Hoyer amongst others.
Bernard’s training credentials include certifications as a Police Academic Instructor, Department of Homeland Security - Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Active Threat Instructor, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Active Shooter Instructor, NRA Law Enforcement Pistol and Shotgun Firearms Instructor, Monadnock Defensive Tactics Systems Instructor, Monadnock Expandable Baton Instructor, Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Instructor, American Red Cross CPR/First Aid and AED Instructor, Blue Shield Tactical Systems De-escalation Instructor.
In addition to Bernard's vast law enforcement and training experience, above all things Bernard recognizes that his greatest call comes as a preacher of the Gospel. Bernard is credentialed minister in the Church of God. Bernard serves as an Associate Minister and the volunteer Security Coordinator at his home church, Life Builders Church of God in District Heights, MD.
